When the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared Covid 19 a pandemic and World Leaders became ill, entire countries were locked down to prevent the spread of infection and international travel ceased.
As lockdown was being implemented nearly every person on the planet had no idea what this lockdown would mean and how long it would be for. Businesses were shut down, meeting people was limited, Grocery shops limited the number of customers allowed at one time and Sports were red flagged.
Ethian mentioned that as races started to be cancelled, he “felt I would not be able to race throughout 2020. But we did manage to get a few races in, which was good”.
Ethian gave his thoughts on the Lockdowns. He mentioned that “In the first Lockdown I was not really like sure how long it was going to last and was just waiting to get back to racing as soon as possible. If I am honest, I thought it would be 2-3 weeks. But then when we had to extend the lockdown that is when I started to realise that I probably will not be back out until the end of 2020. It was upsetting and it had massively affected my plans for 2020”.
In the next article we will look to see how Ethian made the best of the Lockdown and how he made sure he kept himself and his kart race ready.
