Three final year students from the University of Reading will be driving a 1999 Toyota Yaris across the world. Rupert Harris, George Goucher & Jake Dixon will be embarking on this exciting adventure.
Toyota Reading, will be supporting their team, “Around the world in 998cc” who intend to drive from Reading to Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.
Rupert mentioned that “We see this opportunity to take part in the Rally as not only an opportunity for adventure for ourselves, but also to raise some much-needed money for two very worthwhile charities.”
The first charity is a small, UK based charity called Spokes. The primary aim of Spokes is to help young individuals with learning disabilities to be able to find and remain in employment, in the future by teaching them basic bicycle mechanics and other transferable skills.
The second charity is Cool Earth. Cool Earth is an environmental charity that works in partnership with indigenous communities. The charity only protects rainforest that without intervention will be destroyed within the next 18 months.
They are aiming to raise a minimum of £1,000 to be equally split between the above two charities.
Over this journey we will keeping tracks on the lads and we wish them the best of luck on their incredible journey.
